1st Day: 8:00 A.M. Start / 5:00 P.M. Finish
We will be leaving from Hurricane Utah, south to the honeymoon trail to our first stop ( but not necessary) is in Colorado City to top off with gas then onto the coral pink sand dunes. This is probably the tuffest part of the trip, firm hands and concentration for the next 10 miles. we will ride north of the coral pink sand dunes outside of the state park on back roads thru 10 to 12 river crossing thru some of the prettiest country which makes the sand well worth it. We will arrive at Carmel junction on Hwy 89 about noon for lunch at the local diner and fill the bikes with gas. After lunch and a short rest onto wide open dirt roads, we will travel 50 mph+, then straight up to about 8,000 ft to Tropic reservoir. We will connect to the trail system and take in the sites of mini Bryce canyon and the beautiful scenery so bring your camera. From Tropic Reservoir we will travel to Ruby's Inn Bryce canyon, over 200 rooms plus plenty of accommodations such as restaurants, gas, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi to rest your bones. We have never had problems with reservations, here is their web site: www.rubysinn.com
2nd Day 9:00 A.M. Start / 5:00 P.M. Finish
From Ruby's inn we head north to Circle Ville this will take half the day, we will eat at butch casidy's resturant. After lunch and top off gas we will head West to the Beaver mountians. We will climb upto 10,000 ft. and connect to the Fremont trail system, The ride is in deep forest and single track this takes us thru the Beaver Mountian area to the city of Beaver. Which will be our pick up point. Depending on the group there is a lot of great side trails in the beaver mountains we can decide at that time if we would like to take them.
Other info: We will cover some of the most beutiful country From flat desert to plenty of river crossing to Deep forest single track. When you ride this type of country you need to dress for it. From light riding shirts to rain jackets. This ride is for bikes only. In the past we have packed everything we need on the bikes with no support. we pass plenty of towns for gas and minor repairs (knock on wood).
Leaving From Hurricane: Cheveron at 700 West State St. 8:00 A.M. September 12 Friday
Arrive to Beaver: around 5:00 P.M. September 13
Total Miles: 200 to 250 Miles
Here is our challenges: This is not a Loop trail, if we start in Hurricane we will end up in Beaver. We need to get vehicles and trailers from Hurricane to Beaver. If I have enough notice I can have drivers take care of that for us. ( But I need to know in advance) Im sure a $75 to $100 will be necessary for the driver. This ride is for bikes only so we can car pool with large trailers.
