Riders, unfortunately the 2007 Factory Butte Hanksville Ride is cancelled.

I am sorry to have to cancel this ride. As many of you know the Factory Butte Area has been targeted for closure by many groups. They just can't seem to share. The UTMA has received a letter from the Department of Interior notifying us of the new riding restrictions.

The closure appears to have closed most of the areas where I used to lead the Hanksville Ride. I need to go down and do some riding and exploring before I am willing to lead a ride. The weather has not permitted an exploratory ride. You are welcome to go down and ride on your own. I intend to get down there for a ride around as soon as I can. If you are angry about your riding areas being closed then support USA-All. They are fighting the legal battles to get the area re-opened to riding. They have been successful at getting other areas opened after closures and with your help they can get Factory Butte re-opened.
