BAJA SUR MOTO MOCHILA ADVENTURE

sponsored by the Utah Trail Machine Association
October 27-November 4, 2006

The Baja Sur Motomochila (backpack) Adventure begins past the 28th parallel at San Ignacio. Leaving from San Ignacio we travel a total of 750 miles through Malarrimo Beach, Bahia Tortugas, San Ignacio, Mulege, Loreto, San Javier, San Jose de Comondu, La Purisima, and San Juanico. We ride both paved highways and dirt roads. Many of the dirt roads follow the historic Baja 1000 race routes. The schedule allows time for sight seeing and some exploring. We visit both the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean. All bikes must be able to maintain a minimum sustained speed of 60 mph. We travel without any backup or chase vehicle.

The food is excellent and available for a reasonable price. Shrimp, fresh fish, and lobster are on the menu. On the trail plan for breakfast on your own, lunch from your pack and a group restaurant dinner in the evening. And while on the trail we pass out balloons, candy, etc. The kids in Baja are very friendly and appreciate these items.

If interested a $25 non-refundable deposit is required. Send confirmations and deposit to Paul K Edmunds. Include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and bike you plan on riding (no two strokes). A final confirmation will be mailed mid October with a Rider List and Checklist. Remember, you must be a member of UTMA in order to participate. Join at www.utma.net
